We’re a national business-to-business media company that provides best practice, business resources that educate and empower health, fitness and wellness industry professionals to succeed. Those resources include: print publications, websites, e-newsletters, digital and social media content, and in-person events.

Our headquarters and editorial office is located in Louisville, Kentucky. We have two satellite offices that house our creative department in Huntington, West Virginia and sales department in Atlanta, Georgia.

Assistant Editor

Peake Media – Louisville, KY
Full-time, In-person, Monday to Friday
Must be willing to commute or relocate to Louisville, KY


The Position

We are looking for a talented and driven Assistant Editor to work alongside our editorial and creative teams to write stories and create digital content (including videos) for our print publications, websites and social media. This individual should have a degree in journalism or communications from an accredited university or college, be a proven content creator able to work on deadlines, be a team player, and a self-starter. We are seeking a go-getter with drive and passion for what they do.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with editors to write stories and create digital content (including videos) for our print publications, websites and social media.
  • Arrange photo shoots for certain projects (no experience required).
  • Help with editing and proofreading magazines.
  • Manage operational and production aspects of sending publications to print.
  • Generate story and topic ideas for articles, videos and social media.
  • Manage social media and other digital marketing assets, including email marketing.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism or communications.
  • Minimum of 1-year experience in journalism.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of AP Style.
  • Ability to work well under deadlines.
  • Hardworking, self-starter, team player and positive communicator.
  • Must be able to have fun and laugh.
  • Interest in health/fitness is a bonus; we are an active team.
  • Experience with SEO strategies and Google GA4 analytics is a bonus.
  • Desired multimedia experience, including creating videos and social media content.

Staff Writer

Peake Media – Louisville, KY

The Position

Are you a creative writer with a passion for storytelling? Do you have experience in journalism and a desire to produce content that makes a difference? Peake Media is seeking a Staff Writer to join our dynamic team. This role is perfect for someone with a background in newspaper, magazine or online journalism who is eager to contribute to a growing company.

Responsibilities:
  • Content Creation: Write engaging articles and produce videos for our print publications, websites and social media channels.
  • Editorial Support: Assist assistant and lead editors in managing content pipelines, including contributing to e-blasts and e-newsletter content.
  • Digital Management: Support the management of social media accounts, helping to create and schedule posts that resonate with our audience.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with editors and the creative team to brainstorm and develop content ideas that align with our mission and goals.
Qualifications:
  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or a related field.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication, with an eye for detail and a good understanding of AP Style.
  • Team Player: A positive, collaborative individual who enjoys working in a supportive team environment.
  • Self-Starter: Someone who is proactive, can manage their time effectively, and thrives under deadlines.

Graphic Designer

Peake Media – Louisville, KY or Huntington, WV

The Position

We are seeking an energetic and creative Graphic Designer to join our expanding team in Louisville, KY or Huntington, WV. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a strong visual sense and a passion for design. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, love working with type, color, and multimedia, and have an entrepreneurial spirit, we want to hear from you.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Reports directly to the Creative Director and Director of Events.
  • Design logos, signage, backdrops and printed materials for live events.
  • Assist with website design and management.
  • Create graphics used in video, web stories and social media.
  • Design and maintain assets for internal use.
Requirements:
  • College degree with graphic design experience. Print or editorial experience is a plus.
  • Entry-level to 2 years of experience is ideal.
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite. Canva, CSS and WordPress knowledge is a plus.
  • Solid conceptual thinking and ability to bring ideas to life.
  • Must be self-motivated and take initiative, and have attention to detail.
  • Must be able to have fun and laugh.

National Media Consultant

The Position

Peake Media is looking for an energetic, experienced sales professional to join our team. The candidate should possess an entrepreneurial spirit, strong work ethic, be coachable and extremely driven to succeed. We are looking for a person with a proven track record of consultative sales experience. The position available will include advertising sales for our brands and the person will be responsible for sales development of existing clients and new-client acquisition.

Requirements
  • College Degree
  • A minimum of three years sales experience with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Must be extremely coachable with a willingness to learn
